John’s insurance career began in 1982, with Lloyd’s broker Stewart Wrightson. In 1992 he was appointed a director of Nicholson Leslie Aviation and non-executive director of Edward Lumley Holdings, a UK holding company with subsidiaries worldwide. In 1997 he was appointed an executive director of Aon Aviation and, four years later, set up Global Aviation Insurance Network, of which he is still a director. He has been a director of what is now Lumley Insurance since 2003.
Christopher, a graduate of Oxford Brookes University’s Business Administration course, began his insurance career in 1984, when he joined Edward Lumley & Sons. He has since worked for the Sedgwick and Aon groups, and has over 20 years’ experience in international property insurance gained in the UK and South America. He was appointed a director of Lumley St Aubyn (now Lumley Insurance) in 2005.
Joanne took her first job in insurance in 1987 with the National Farmers Union. In 1995 she joined Taylor St Aubyn, where she focused on providing a range of services for private clients. She was appointed a director of Lumley St Aubyn (now Lumley Insurance) in 2005, and has since been a driving force in the development of the business.
Charlie began working in insurance in 1980, when he joined Aon as a specialist in aviation insurance. This role took him all over the Far East and Asia, where he represented the company for some 20 years. During this time he launched a specialist insurance scheme for airline flight crew. He is now Lumley Insurance’s aviation specialist.
Bertie is a chartered accountant. He has been involved with Lumley Insurance, in all its guises, since 1998. He was appointed company secretary in 2001 and finance director in 2003.
Astrid was a director of Taylor St Aubyn – latterly Lumley St Aubyn – from 2003 to 2007. She has since acted as a consultant to Lumley Insurance, specialising in marketing and promotional activities.
